How to Fix a Vacuum

Typically, it’s not good when something sucks. Unless that something is your vacuum cleaner. If yours is in need of a tune-up, Sean Buino of Dad’s Handyman Service has you covered with these simple steps:


  • Vacuum belt
  • Vacuum bag
  • Screwdriver
  • Utility knife
  • All-purpose cleaner
  • Paper towels


  1. Flip unit, remove cover
  2. Remove roller brush
  3. Cut hair off brush
  4. Remove old belt
  5. Attach new belt
  6. Clean unit
  7. Insert brush
  8. Remove old bag and clean
  9. Attach new bag

This easy fix takes 30 minutes and costs $15.
