Body of elderly man found in South Side apartment

Police are investigating the death of an elderly man on the city’s South Side.

The body of the 75-year-old victim was found in his apartment in the 5600 block of South Racine.

According to a neighbor, the victim was the owner of a three story building that houses a barbershop on the first floor.

There had recently been a fire in the building, but the victim remained living in the apartment.

He was found dead from head trauma, and the case is being treated as a homicide.

Police continue to investigate. No one is in custody.
