Chicago gets new vendor for red light camera program

Chicago has chosen a new vendor to operate its red light camera program.

“Xerox State and Local Solutions” is based in Maryland.

The company recently lost its contract to manage Baltimore’s red light camera system, when it admitted that faulty equipment resulted in hundreds of innocent drivers getting automated speeding tickets.

The city and the company must still negotiate a contract.
