Fed up with a rash of robberies in his ward, Alderman Tom Tunney is leading a midnight march against crime.

The community walk takes place Friday night in Lakeview.

Interested residents can meet in front of the 7-Eleven in the 3400 block of Halsted.

Police officers from the 19th District will join them on the walk.

A half-a-dozen armed robberies took place in the area in July.

Tunney, who says he’s been robbed himself in the past, wants to rally the community to be watchful and work closely with police.

Another Rain Dance will not stop the crime. Bad people walk the streets and when they take over the streets, you have to gve the police the Greern Light and start locking them up. In the process, some innocent people might be stopped, and they might not like it. That's the price to pay for getting control of the streets. All these marches will never help and all they do is grand stand for the politicians and other opportunits. We have a solution, and always had the solution. We have a police department, USE IT! Forget about all these complainers that said the police stopped me for no reason. The one's that complain are ususlly the bad people that walk the streets. Just ask tghe south and west sides of Chicago.
