Man hospitalized after car goes into pond

A man was hospitalized after his car went into a pond Friday afternoon.

Richton Park police and fire were dispatched to the area of Lake George at Cicero Avenue and Sauk Trail around 3:00 p.m., according to police.  They were responding to reports that a car was submerged in the water.

Upon arrival, police discovered a 59-year-old man who was able to exit the vehicle and make it onto land.  The man was unable to provide a statement to the responding officers.  He was transported to Christ Hospital for treatment.

The incident is currently under investigation, police said.
