Must-have apps for Lollapalooza, summer festivals

One of the biggest summer festivals in Chicago, Lollapalooza, starts tomorrow.

Here are some apps you’ll find useful for Lolla and any festivals you’re attending this year. Happy Festing!

Free for iPhone and Android

If you’re going to Lollapalooza this weekend, you need to download the music festival’s official app. You can use this app to create a schedule of the shows you want to see — it can even sync with your calendar and set an alarm for shows you absolutely can’t miss. The app’s Discover section let’s you listen to Lollapalooza’s bands and the Map section let’s you drop a pin and share your location with friends.

Use Stow to create packing lists for festivals and any other travel plans you might have. The app has some ready-made templates for typical trips, plus you can add to these lists based on the weather you’ll be experiencing. Even though this app is a bit pricey, Stow is has a beautiful interface and is great for list-makers. If you travel a lot, you’ll get you $1.99 out of it!


Free for iOs or Android

Can’t find a cab at Lolla? Maybe you can get a Lyft instead! This GPS-based app will find Lyft-approved drivers that are near you and they’ll pick you up. Plus, they’re much cheaper than a taxi service.

Easy Battery Saver 

Free for Android

This app will do just what it says — save your battery while you’re at a summer festival. It will adjust your network connectivity as well as your screen brightness to save what battery juice you’ve got left.
