Power restored for many after severe storms

Friday night’s severe storms wreaked havoc on the northern suburbs, leaving 19,000 ComEd customers without power.

In Nile, Park Ridge and Waukegan, strong winds and heavy rain brought down dozens of trees and at least one streetlight.

ComEd said the company had extra utility crews on hand in anticipation of the weather.

All but 583 homes have had power restored according to ComEd.
