Thousands of people  lined up outside Wrigley Field Friday for the Pearl Jam concert.

The rock band is taking over the friendly confines for one night only.  The group is touring in support of a soon-to-be released album.

They have some deep-rooted Chicago connections. Front man Eddie Vedder is an Evanston native and a huge Cubs fan.

Friday is a big night for outdoor concerts in Chicagoland, with the Pitchfork Festival at Union Park, Sheryl Crow playing Ravinia and Phish at Northerly Island.
