Northwestern Memorial ranks 6th on list of best hospitals in US

High honors for Chicago’s Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

Northwestern was among 18 hospitals that made the honor roll in U.S. News World Report’s annual ranking of Best Hospitals in the U.S.

Northwestern came in 6th place overall, with recognition in 12 medical specialties.

The Chicago metropolitan area was listed as Number 2 – in terms of getting the best medical treatment in the country.

36 of its 119 hospitals in the area including Aurora, Evanston, Joliet, and Naperville were listed as top-ranking.

The Ann and Robert H. Lurie Childran’s Hospital was ranked as the top children’s hospital.

Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore was named the top hospital, overall.
