Plan first. Before you take a seed or a cutting, know where you are going to plant.

Place houseplant cuttings on a north or east windowsill and keep moist.

Dig for bulbs and garden flowers as they are going dormant.

Only save the tastiest fruits and veggies.

Seeds from veggies and fruits should be cleaned before being stored or planted.
