A computer glitch shut down the Rivers Casino abruptly overnight in Des Plaines, forcing players to leave without cashing out.

A spokesman said the casino’s security cameras failed briefly, and all guests and patrons had to be evacuated. The cameras have since been fixed.

While some patrons were able to cash out their winnings, others weren’t so lucky.

“I saw a guy in yellow run by the [blackjack] table and then he said all of a sudden, last hand and everyone’s out.” Luke Kovarik said. “I didn’t get cashed out so I have my chips.”

Officials said anyone with chips who was told to leave during the incident, can return at any time and cash them in for their face value.

The casino will reopen at 9 a.m. Saturday.
