Chicago’s largest no-kill animal shelter is in the middle of hosting a 36-hour adopt-a-thon.

The event is intended to raise awareness on adoptions of homeless pets.

More than 150 kittens, puppies, cats and dogs are waiting for a new home.

The adopt-a-thon began at 11 a.m. Friday morning, and will continue through tonight at 11 p.m.
