Angry passenger throws boiling coffee cup at CTA bus driver

busAn irate passenger was arrested Friday night after throwing a searing hot cup of coffee at a CTA bus driver’s face.

The incident occurred at the Jefferson Park bus depot, near Lawrence and Milwaukee on the Northwest Side.

Police said the passenger claimed the driver had passed him at a bus stop. The driver said he did not stop the bus because the passenger was not standing at a bus stop.

The driver, taken to Resurrection Medical Center for burns, has not been identified by police and was later transferred to Loyola.

Charges are still pending for the arrested passenger.
