Cary police search Fox River for woman missing since 1999

WendyKimuraThe Cary Police Department is conducting a search of Fox River Monday for a 28-year-old woman who went missing 14 years ago.

Chicago resident Wendy M. Kimura was last seen in May 1999. Police say she took a train to Fox River Grove, Ill., to spend the night with a friend who resided in the 200 block of Northwest Highway in Cary.  She was last seen walking along Route 14.

Based on new information, Cary police are searching the Fox River near Kimura’s last known location. This search is a continuation of Saturday’s land search, police said.

Police provided no other details.
