Thousands of Chicagoans volunteered their time yesterday to help transform some of the city’s most under-served neighborhoods.
Former First Daughter Chelsea Clinton rallied the crowd at Daley Plaza for the annual “Chicago Cares Serve-A-Thon.”
She was among the people working to restore classrooms, libraries and playgrounds across the city.
Clinton said a neat, dignified learning environment can inspire those same virtues in young students.
Clinton was in town, along with her parents, for the summit of the Clinton Global Initiative.
