Funeral held today for former Gary mayor

A funeral will be held today the former mayor of Gary, Indiana.

Mourners paid their respects to Rudy Clay at a visitation today.

He died last week after battling prostate cancer.

Clay was 77-years-old.

Today’s funeral will be held at the Genesis Convention Center at 11 a.m.

The public is invited to attend, but are encouraged to come early because a large crowd is expected.

Gary mayor Karen Freeman-Wilson, Rev. Jesse Jackson and Judge Greg Mathis are scheduled to speak.
