‘Motown: The Musical’ has chosen Chicago as the first stop on its national tour.

The hit Broadway musical features music from the legendary Motown catalogue with it’s story written by Motown founder, Berry Gordy.

It’ll play the Oriental Theatre from April 22 to July 13, 2014.

Group tickets  are on sale now thru Broadway In Chicago. Individual tickets will go on sale at a later date.

Producers credit the state of Illinois’ “Live Theatre Production Tax Credit” for making it possible to launch the national tour here in Chicago.

‘Motown: The Musical’ will be featured on this Sunday’s Tony Awards where it is up for four-nominations.
