A Park Ridge man charged with killing a bicyclist this past week was released from jail after his family posted 10% of his $100,000 dollar bond.
Ryne San Hamel, 29, is accused of slamming into the victim with his Mercedes in the 1300 block of North Clybourn.
San Hamel is also accused of aggravated DUI. He failed field sobriety tests and refused to take a breathalyzer at the scene of the accident according to prosecutors.
Police said blood drawn from San Hamel showed he had an alcohol content more than the legal limit.
Police identified Robert Cann, 26, as the accident victim. An avid cyclist, Cann was a caption rider for Groupon Inc. on the Near North side.
Fellow cyclists rode in Cann’s memory Friday evening and finished the ride at the accident scene.
