A suburban school district is taking a second look at its ban on a controversial book.

The school board of Glen Ellyn School District 41 will address the ban at a meeting tonight.

Stephen Chbosky’s “Perks of Being a Wallflower”  is banned from eighth grade classrooms at Hadley Junior High.

Parents had complained about the books sexual content and inappropriate language. Other parents and teachers said the move was an act of censorship.

The school district is expected to present a plan that allows parents to get involved in what their children are reading.

The board will make a final vote on the book on June 10th.
