A jury took just four hours to decide to convict a Lake Villa man of murdering his former boss at a Lindenhurst Burger King.

The family of Mary Hutchison watched as the jury read a guilty verdict for James Ealy.

Ealy strangled Hutchison with the bow tie from her uniform and stabbed her with a screwdriver while robbing the restaurant early one day in November 2006.

Hutchison was alone doing inventory.

Ealy faces life in prison.

Hutchison’s widower says he had hoped Ealy would receive the death penalty.
