Evanston Township High School says it has taken appropriate action in a “sexting” scandal.

The school district says it was alerted that some female students texted inappropriate pictures of themselves to some members of the high school baseball team; and some of the players then circulated the pictures.

In letters to parents, the school district said the affected students have been disciplined.

The school’s athletic director has withdrawn the ETHS team from the state baseball playoffs.

Police and child-welfare officials were told of the sexting scandal, but chose not to get involved in it.
