A man whose murder trial was one of the first in Illinois to allow cameras in the courtroom is back in court Tuesday.
A jury found Demetrious Jones guilty of first-degree murder in the shooting death of Marcus Sanders.
In Kankakee County Circuit Court Tuesday Judge Clark Erickson sentenced the 21-year-old to nearly 89 years in prison. He will not be eligible for release until he is 107 years old.
Jones did not speak at his sentencing and remained emotionless throughout the hearing.
Jones has struggled with drugs and alcohol and has been in and out of the justice system since he was 15-years-old.

He should have gotten the death penalty and put to death that same day….

If there is to be any sort of closer, I pray that family of Mr. Jones, will pay closer attention to Mr. Jones children, to help them grow up a lot wiser.

Good job momma and baby daddy. Don't worry Demetrious, those 89 years will only seem like 85. Locked up with a bunch of dummies for the rest of your days.
