A high school track coach in southern Illinois is accused of knowingly exposing a male student to the HIV virus.

35-year-old Mario Hunt was a teacher’s aide and track coach at Cahokia High School.

Investigators say he sexually abused a 17-year-old in 2011.

Hunt was suspended last week when the investigation started, and now sits behind bars on $300,000 bond.

Police aren’t saying whether the teen making the accusations has actually contracted the virus.

Parents are worried there are more potential victims.
