Chicago Police are investigating the beating death of an elderly woman in the South Shore neighborhood.

Catherine Glenn’s body was found in a closet inside her home in the 7800 block of  S. Euclid Avenue at about 7:30am Sunday morning.

She was apparently beaten with a blunt object.
Cathy Glenn says her mother turned 82 on Saturday and she celebrated with family, who left her home late that evening.
One of Glenn’s family members is being questioned in the death after being arrested while walking at Rainbow Beach Park, police said.

Charges had not been filed as of Monday morning.

An official cause of death will be determined after an autopsy is performed on Monday.
