Postal workers will be doing more than dropping off mail Saturday.

They’re asking residents to leave nonperishable items by their boxes for their annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive.

A record 70 million pounds of food was collected nationwide last year, more than 640,000 pounds of that was in Chicago.

Donations go to food pantries in the areas where they are collected.

I pitched in. Gave what I could. I do remember as a youngster (growing Up) , what it was like to be without or very limited on food. I am now a hoarder of food..no joke..I keep stocked as much as I can. A month before expiration, I give it to the American Veterans. I hope everyone who can give, does. If I get any thumbs down…they I will let you know now..YOU ARE A DOODY HEAD. Thank you.
