As expected, the Bulls will be without Luol Deng and Kirk Hinrich for Friday’s Game 3 against the Heat.

Neither player participated in the morning shootaround and both remain doubtful moving forward throughout the series. Deng is recovering from losing 15 pounds following complications from a spinal tap. Hinrich has a severely bruised left calf.

Coach Tom Thibodeau confirmed Hinrich’s second MRI revealed similar results from the first exam. The injury, which has been likened to an impact situation in football, isn’t improving. Though Hinrich’s swelling has decreased, he hasn’t been able to increase activity without issue.

“He’s in a holding pattern,” Thibodeau said. “He did a little bit more on the bike, a little bit better (Friday). But he still has a ways to go.’’

There is no change in Derrick Rose’s status, and Thibodeau said he’s out.
