Blueprints for 3-D printed gun pulled from website

Printable guns causing controversy among advocates, lawmakersBlueprints for a 3-D printed gun were downloaded 100,000 times in two days before the U.S. State Department ordered the plans removed from a website.

The plans, designed by Defense Distributed are still available on other parts of the internet.

The one-shot liberator is the first 3-d printed gun to be successfully fired.

Experts say downloading the file does not guarantee a person will be able to make a working gun.

The process requires a high-grade 3-D printer and other specialized skills.
