A weather system moving in generally from the southwest will bring storms by late this afternoon or this evening, with more than an inch of rain expected in most of the Chicago area before the storms move out tomorrow.
Temperatures reached the 70s early this afternoon but will slowly drop, reaching the upper 40s by early tomorrow, according to WGN-TV/Tribune meteorologist Tom Skilling.
A few of the storms in the overall rain pattern could be quite strong, especially early tonight. Rain will moderate but stick around before moving out of the area sometime Friday, leaving behind much cooler temperatures.
