Police are investigating incidents of suspects trying to lure children into their cars near schools on the North Shore.

Over the past two weeks, there have been at least five reports of suspects approaching children and asking if they want a ride.

On Tuesday, a student says a man stopped near the Highwood Ballpark and asked if she wanted a ride.

The man is described as being in his late 40’s with gray hair and sunglasses.

He was driving a large SUV with a lift kit and large tires.

In another incident Wednesday, a girl walking near Oak Terrace School in Highwood was approached by a woman in a white minivan and asked if she wanted a ride.

The children got away and were not injured.
