Bill Clinton receives Lincoln Leadership prize

The 42nd president of the United States was honored in the spirit of the 16th.

Bill Clinton received the 2013 Lincoln Leadership prize at a ceremony at the Chicago Hilton Saturday.

The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library gives the prestigious award to people who have shown a commitment to the principles of democracy.

It’s the first time the award has been presented to a former president.

Past recipients include Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor and Archbishop Desmond Tutu.
