Wheaton residents demand better flood protection

Some Wheaton residents whose homes were flooded last month planned to take their concerns to the City Council Saturday morning.

Many want to know why a retention lake did not protect them from flooding, and what city leaders will do to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Wheaton officials met with federal assessors Friday to determine whether flood victims will be eligible for FEMA aid.

    That's what you get for living on a flood plane. Or living near a river. Plus thou should blame other people fr what Mother Nature dishes out. Yes I know it is expensive to replace everything in the basement every time it floods. But you chose to live their.
