The Sun Times reports several players on Walter Payton College Prep’s baseball team told their coach they want him to step down.
This comes after the coach forfeited a game against a South Side school, and claimed it was because parents were worried about safety.
Yesterday, CPS hosted a breakfast for the two teams, intended to ease tensions.
Some members of Gwendolyn Brooks College Prep’s team were offended by the coach’s claim.
But Payton school officials say, the game was canceled simply because the coach failed to arrange bus transportation.
The game was rescheduled, and the teams were set to play Saturday night.

See how they feel when there's some kind of trouble at the game that was rescheduled…although the amout of police that will probably be there will prevent that from happening.( And there will be some GREAT photo ops for all the Chi big shots)
There was a person murdered in West Pullman the other day – – West Pullman is Roseland's neighbor…
Good luck to them – all of them – – Not sure that the coach needs to be questioned…Don't think that he meant any harm…probably trying to protect the kids that he coached…
