A part of the landing gear believed to be from a plane used in the 9-11 attacks has been found wedged between two buildings about three blocks away from Ground Zero.

Investigators are now working to determine if it’s from the American Airlines plane, or the United Airlines plane that crashed into the Twin Towers on Sept. 11, 2001. The part includes a visible Boeing identification number.

The area where the part was found has been secured as a crime scene and the medical examiner’s office will complete a full safety evaluation and sift the soil around the building for possible human remains.
