Man injured in shooting, crash on Southeast Side

A man was injured after a shooting on Chicago’s Southeast Side.

The incident happened in the 600 block of W. 117th St. around 5:45 a.m. Friday in West Pullman.

A man, 38, was driving when he was shot by someone on the block and crashed into a parked van and a garage.

The driver tried to accelerate to flee the gunfire and lost control of his car in the 11500 block of South Lowe Ave.

He suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and was transported to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.

He is listed in critical condition. Police have no suspects in custody.

A similar shooting happened in the same neighborhood recently. Police say they are not connecting the two incidents.
