A Lake Villa man has been charged for attempted child abduction.

Henry Wright, 29, of the 25000 Block of Arcade Drive has been charged with four counts of Attempted Aggravated Kidnapping and four counts of Child Abduction, according to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

Police said Wright attempted to abduct four girls, who ranged from ages four to eight, on the 39100 Block of Welsh Ln in Beach Park. He approached them and asked them if they wanted a ride. The girls were able to run away and one of them told their mother Wright’s license plate number.

Waukegan Police located the vehicle, which was also reportedly involved in a hit and run accident, at Yorkhouse and Delany Road, police said.

Wright was then turned over to the Lake County Sherriff’s Office Deputies.

Wright’s bond has been set at $1,000,000.00.  He is scheduled to appear in court on May 3rd.
