Deport the whole family. This kid picked up some beliefs from home, then explored radicalized Islam and was turned. But, the family must have planted some seeds first.

I think a certain percentage of young males are attracted to trigger happy 'causes'. They go looking for them if it's not on their doorstep. Think of all the men from different countries who went to fight in Spain during Francos time. Think of the IRA. There are endless examples worldwide. If those same men survive to be 30 they are often appalled by what they have done. In America it's easy enough to provide most of these young men with the thrill they are seeking because of the myriad of gangs and militias. Those options are less available to the Muslim young males so they look abroad for their 'cause'. Young male alienation and penchant for violence is the issue more than any specific 'cause'.
