* The Red Wings went 3-1 on their recently-concluded road trip, winning the first three before a 2-0 shutout loss in San Jose Thursday.

* Detroit had scored a power-play goal in eight straight games before going 0-for-1 with the man advantage on Thursday.

* Damien Brunner is scoreless in his last 14 games after lighting the lamp 10 times in his first 19 contests this season.
