Community alert issued after woman escapes sexual assault

Chicago Police have issued a community alert after an attempted sexual assault in the Ogden District Friday night.

According to the release, two men reportedly grabbed a 20-year-old woman and carried her into an alley in the 2400 block of South Homan Avenue around 10:00 p.m. The men tried to perform a sex act on the woman but she escaped when two unknown male citizens approached the location and began arguing with the offenders, police said.

Both offenders are described as white-Hispanics.  They were wearing black, hooded sweaters, baggy pants and half ski masks.

Police are reminding people to avoid secluded areas such as parks, alleys and vacant lots during late night, early morning hours
