A memorial service marked the 10th anniversary of a 7-year-old Streator boy’s murder.

Dalton Mesarchik disappeared from the front porch of his home while waiting for a church van to pick him up.

A day later, a fisherman found the child’s body along the Vermillion River.

He had been bludgeoned with a sledgehammer that police found in a trash bin.

The case remains unsolved.

There’s a $50,000 reward for a lead that helps investigators find the killer.

The service took place Saturday evening outside Streator City Hall.
