RAW: 4-11 fire at warehouse in Coal City

A massive fire in Coal City destroyed several businesses, Thursday morning.

Just before midnight Wednesday, a resident walking in the area alerted Coal City fire officials of the blaze.

On arrival, crews reported flames through the roof of the building and elevated it to a fifth alarm.

The building is an old storage warehouse and has been subdivided into different businesses.

There were no injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

    Wish there was a better pic of this fire on this site. It was an incredible sight to see in our little town early this morning. Dozens of emergency vehicles, news choppers, lights, and sirens made the atmosphere a bit surreal. The entire area smelled of smoke for hours today.
