A meeting scheduled by the Illinois Republican Party to oust state GOP Chairman Pat Brady was abruptly canceled.

Sources with the Chicago Tribune say it is because there weren’t enough votes to get Brady out.

More conservative members of the state GOP didn’t like Brady’s pro-gay marriage stance.

The bill passed the Illinois Senate, but faces a close vote in the House.
