Burbank Police remain on the scene Thursday morning after two elderly people were found in their home along the 6400 block of West 83rd Place.

Police say the victims are an 80-year-old woman and a 78-year-old man, but their identities have not been released.

According to the Medical Examiner’s Office, this may be a case of murder suicide.

The bodies were discovered in a bedroom Wednesday morning by a relative who then called police.

Both victims had died of apparent gunshot wounds.

It’s not known if a weapon was found in the home along with the victims.

There was no sign of forced entry, and police say the shootings do not appear to be a random act of violence.

Neighbors say the deaths are tragic.

The couple had lived in the neighborhood for at least two decades.

What a sad situation. Burbank is really a nice place to live. Unfortunately the only news you hear coming out of my town is sad or bad news. I pray that this couple has found peace.

Sadly, the elderly tend to be trusting, because they lived in a time when you COULD trust people. My sympathies to family and friends~

Burbank is no longer a nice town. Whoever says that is clearly blind to its deteriorating population for the past 15 years.

Burbank, when my parents moved here, was nothing but swamps and was known as South Stickney. Folks who lived here were disdained as those who lived in "South Stinky". This was because the sewer systems were not completed, and streets would flood easily. Those people stayed and planted trees and made this a community. What Burbank is today is a slap in the face of those who lived here when it was looked down upon

Burbank Police needs to step up to plate.
Start patrolling these streets mores .Being parked on the parking lot of a church at 83rd and State for long periods of times ,having a conversation with a another officer does not help .I know I know they are having lunch. Yes these are my assumption but com on it’s time to do something for this community. Do you care what is happening to this town!! I do and please don’t tell me you have no budget for more officers if that is what is needed. Our taxes are out of control.
So please get more involved and help us, yourself, and community.
