Vitamin D taken by pregnant women may increase the risk children will suffer from food allergies.

The link was so great, study authors recommend pregnant women avoid taking Vitamin D supplements.

German researchers found Vitamin D in the mother’s blood and in their newborn’s cord blood.

Those with the highest levels had the highest occurrence of allergies in the first two years of life.
