Report: ‘Fat-talk’ makes people more depressed

Don’t talk about your body concerns — complaining about looking old or fat actually makes people feel more depressed.

The Journal of Eating Disorders reports body dissatisfaction, and more importantly, constant talk about body concerns, causes feelings about body image to spiral further leading to depression and stress.

While some people think so-called “fat talk” or “old talk” helps people cope, experts say it makes the body image disturbance even worse.
