Two police officers were hurt after a driver crashed into the back of their unmarked squad car in the Gresham neighborhood.

It happened about 8:40 p.m. Saturday night, in the 7500 block of South Western Avenue.

The injured officers were taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where their conditions were stabilized, police said.

The driver of the sedan was also taken to Advocate Christ, where his condition was stabilized, before being taken into custody.

Police believe the driver was speeding when he hit the officers’ car, and that alcohol may have been involved.
