Bladder infections could be caused by immune deficiency

Medical GenericBladder infections plague women, and now it turns out the recurring problem may be caused by an immune deficiency.

Scientists say certain women have weak immune fighters that do not build resistance to bacteria.

So instead of learning to fight recurring bladder infections, the body succumbs to the same bacteria repeatedly.

Duke University researchers say the knowledge will help them develop a bladder vaccine to boost the immune system and prevent infection.
