Investigators look into cause of Morris house fire

Fire investigators in far south suburban Morris are trying to determine whether a gas leak cause a garage explosion

Crews were called to a home in the 5800 block of Barrington Road, early Tuesday morning.

When firefighters got there, the garage of the home had collapsed and the home was on fire.

Officials say it appears a gas build up inside the home led to an explosion.

The homeowners were not at home, so nobody was injured.

Illinois State Fire Marshal’s will join the investigation.
