A pregnant woman who died after an emergency C-section was suffering from the flu.

38-year-old Margaret Jefferson was 32 weeks pregnant when she was found in her home on W. 91st Pl. in Hickory Hills early Thursday morning.

Doctors at Palos Community Hospital delivered her baby; but Jefferson was pronounced dead several hours later; her baby girl died a few hours after her mother.

An autopsy today may determine exactly how the mother and baby died;  police say their deaths are not considered suspicious.

this a very sad story… i live in hickory hills.. to be exact on 91st place… my thoughts and prayers go out to the family..

It was 91st St. And my daughter Megan went first………This is painful enough without horribly irresponsible reporting……..The doctor's worked on our daughter for thirteen minutes……they gave an excellent effort and thank a Higher Power she never has to deal with this horrible horrible world. My Sunshine is gone…….She was my world and now She and my Daughter are awaiting us…..My two sons and I have to go on…….So thank you for your wonderful…..Thoughtful….Complete job of investigative reporting.

    Mr. Jefferson
My heart goes out to you and your family on this horrible tragedy!! I work in Hickory Hills, and heard this on the news this morning. I got into work and wanted to hear more details on your story. I know that this may not be the appropriate time to tell you this. If you look on the Daily Southtown website, they are reporting that this was caused by a domestic incident! I would nail these cold hearted bastards to the wall!! So quick to get a story, they can't even get it accurate. Have no thought for your family, or how you and your sons are goign to cope with such a great loss!! I truely am very sorry for your loss, I can't even imagine what you are going thru right now. I will pray for you and your sons in this extremely trying time.
