Chicago area drivers faced some tough conditions overnight as a mix of freezing rain, sleet, and snow hit the pavement.

The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory overnight warning for icy roads and low visibility.

Those conditions and black ice caused an 11 car pileup in northwest suburban Schaumburg.

The crash happened just after 11 p.m.  last night on the Elgin-O’Hare expressway near gary Ave.

Two people were injured but didn’t need treatment.
