Vice President Joe Biden begins a series of meetings today, to put together a tougher national gun control policy.

Early this afternoon, Biden met with a group representing victims of gun violence.  He told reporters, “I want to make it clear that we are not going to get caught up in the notion that unless we can do everything, we’re going to nothing.  It’s critically important that we act.”

Tomorrow, he will meet with the National Rifle Association.

A representative from Wal-Mart will also meet with Biden, since the retailer is America’s largest seller of ammunition.

Initially, Wal-Mart said it would not attend the meeting due to scheduling conflicts.

Vice President Biden will present his findings and a series of gun control recommendations to President Obama by the end of the month.

The dialoge has to happen quiclly because action has to be taken quickly. My idea is that we put Fingerprint recognition on all guns. This may not have prevented all massacres, but the Psycho in Conneticut wouldn't have been able to use his mother's guns. With stricter background, and mental health checks before people buy guns, we might have prevented the Killing in Aurora Colorado too.____The next step would be to have a voluntary exchange of the old guns for a free new one. Then we wouldn't be taking the guns away from the NRA. Maybe the NRA could compromise with this.____Suzy McNeil

Virtually every sick shooter individual has been on behavior altering drugs, either anti-depressants or Attention Deficit Disorder medications, or just getting off, which cause severe unresolved behavior disorders. Why don't the authorities zero in on this! Law abiding gun owners are tired of taking the blame for something we have no control over!

Yesterday over 50 people were injured from a ferry accident in New York City. Maybe it's time we have stiffer laws concerning ferries.

We get it, 'Gun Control' is a bad word. Nobody is trying to take away the rights of the 2nd Amendment in the literal sense.

But in the world of mentally unstable, lawmakers should find a way to make our society a safer place. If restrictions placed on guns are what it takes, we open the floor to debate.

For all of you in fear of a 2nd Amendment violation calming it is unconstitutional, where were you during the NYC/LA stop and frisk movement which is still occurring? Stop and frisk is an even clearer violation of our 4th Amendment.

With that said, the U.S. has averaged more than 18 gun deaths every day since the Newtown School shooting. Something should be done.
